Kal covers cert petitions on SCOTUSblog. They monitor newly filed petitions, maintain the Petitions We're Watching page, and write the Petitions of the Week column.

Kal is currently a student at Columbia Law School. Previously, they worked as the site's manager as well as at Georgetown's Supreme Court Institute and the American Constitution Society. Kal received a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from the University of Georgia.
